I Missed Again

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

I missed a blog, and I even had good numbers for Monday!

Yesterday, not so much, but it wasn’t terrible. I beat my targets on most things; just not steps and vigorous activity.

I had good cause; I was test-tumble polishing a piece of copper jewelry (the Not-A-Cat. As it turns out, tumbling the pieces makes them look much more like copper, which is nifty), and then I was photographing other jewelry for use on mini business cards. So... constructive, just not in the Body Cop’s sense of the word.
What I SHOULD have been doing is actually starting to make copper stuff, as I’ve got at least one of the clay packets in, I’ve got almost all of the bits and bobs in that I’ve ordered (minus the fiber blanket and agate burnisher), and I picked up the butane and an extra fire extinguisher last night. But I got home later than I’d have liked, and then I messed around with the tumbler, instead. So... next time, I’ll make a start on making new and different copper stuff. Still nervous about doing it without supervision from someone with more of a clue than me, but there’s nothing for it – it’s time to get started. Also, I need to start gluing the heck out of rose cabochon studs, and making a start on new earring jackets for them.
Lots to do, lots to do.
By some strange twist of fate, I seem to still have money left after paying the bills this month. So I’m planning to check to make sure I’m not crazy and that I really do have it and it’s not earmarked for anything else... and then I’m going to go and get the mailbox. For 6 months, anyway. From there, it’s Tax ID time, then bank account time, and poof! We’ve got a business, kids.
Scary, scary.
Oh, and I have to do my taxes sometime REALLY soon, too. So... yeah, some of that money IS earmarked, to pay the TurboTax gods.
I filled out my Etsy policies yesterday. My next step, following the ones above, is figuring out what my shipping situation is.

OK, actually have work to do, so I’m going to cut this short.
Have a great day, all!
