2012.03.13 A Good Ride

I have never blogged before but I am trying all of the SparkPeople activities this time to try and help me get my weight back down and once there to maintain.

I had a really good day today. My DH, DS and I rode 28.36 miles. It wasn't the fastest ride in the world but I am steady. The hills really get to me but I am getting better. I have only really been cycling for the last two weeks. I started out with a 1.5 mile first ride then went up to 7 then a few 10's. Saturday I did a 25 miler and it felt great. Did a 10 miler on Sunday then a break Monday. DH says I am doing great. We are going to try and ride in the Fiesta Wildflower ride the end of April. I know that I will be able to do the 23 mile ride but we are trying to decide if I think I will be able to do the next level up (40 miles) or not. We are going to drive the 40 mile course tomorrow to see how it is laid out then we will see where I am at the end of the month and make a decision.

I am not looking to race and win. I am looking to be a decent, steady speed so that I am getting a good cardio workout while burning calories and not taking hours longer than anyone else to do the same ride.
