Day off for PT

Tuesday, March 13, 2012

I woke with low back spasms. I did manage a light 10 minute stretching any way. I was trying to work out that bad kink, but it didn't really work. I went to PT, and hoped to work it out. But no, I left with it still pretty much doing me in. Good thing it is a day off. So, I went to the grocery store, hoping to walk it off. It still was kicking me in the butt, literally, but at least the groceries are done. I waited too long to eat, and started feeling the effects, so grabbed something out of the grocery bag to eat on the way home. Major no no in not paying closer attention to my timing. Got home, son not around to help bring the groceries in, so it was more weight lifting. Took me way longer than I would have liked to haul it in, only to have him arrive just as I finished. I asked him to at least help me put it away, which he did. I started cooking supper, it's in the oven. Now I can "relax" and unwind. I'm done.

In speaking with my therapist, he says I did not lose much range of motion in missing a month of therapy when the sessions lapsed (due to insurance issues). He says to remember I am coming back from 3 major surgeries last year. I really do think I am finally on the upswing, despite what I actually feel at the moment. I am pretty sure I will feel majorly better by tomorrow. At least some time tomorrow. And tomorrow, we are hoping to see our grandson in the afternoon. He is now a couple of months shy of two and a half.

10 minutes stretches - done
25 minutes physical therapy - done
walking (a mile +-) - done
breakfast on time - done
lunch - kind of messed up on that one
working on my water
Relaxation is in session.

Don't focus on where you messed up, focus on all that you're doing to get better and feel great! You're doing really well. I think sometimes we discourage ourselves too readily. Take care ~ Jennifer
