I think autumn is definitely infiltrating what is left of our rubbish summer. The mornings are cooler, it's been a bit rainy, the sun is rising later and setting early, daylight savings must just about be over. I know most of you at the top end of the planet are rejoicing because spring is showing it's face! Pinegirl10 commented that she has had a mild winter in Illinois, so here's hoping your summer is a lot more punchy than your winter, and our summer.
That said, the weather here on Saturday was gorgeous. Shame I had to spend the morning at work! In the afternoon I went for a lovely long walk to the beach and back, it was about 8.5km all up and took me 86 minutes. The beach isn't exactly exciting as is only part of Auckland's inner harbour, but you still get the smell of the fresh salt air which I just love. I can't load photos to my blog whilst using my iPad, so here is a link to some photos of the beach: http://www.google.co.nz/search
Our inner harbor as an offshore volcano island (Rangitoto), which is dormant, but I'm sure will be the eventual end of Auckland! So it does make for a nice view when you are anywhere along our waterfront.
After my walk I had a lovely cool down period lazing in my hammock in the back yard reading my book in the sun. And to make up for my hectic week, I had a nice quiet night at home, watching a movie, followed by an early night! It's amazing how much better you feel after a good nights sleep isn't it?
Sunday the weather was complete rubbish, humid, raining and dull (today is more of the same, but add in a little wind), so felt completely uninspired. It would seem weather really affects my mood! Turned most of my excess tomatoes picked from my garden into tomato juice, made some sourdough bread ( a very nice Pane lariano - whole wheat Genzano country bread),
did about 4 loads of laundry, and generally lazed around until a friend called and hauled me and my sorry arse out for a nice big walk! Hooray for friends!
So nice weekend, relaxing, good eating, good exercise, good friends. What more could you need?
