The Simple Diet Journal #7 -- Increasing Activity to Burn an Extra 2000 cals/week

Because I mentioned on my blog yesterday that I would try doing the Hula Hoop today -- it helped me actually find a moment and go for it. Once again, the power of setting goals and writing them down bears fruit.
So . . . how'd it go? Believe it or not, I was able to keep it going for even longer than a minute! And, it was a lot of fun.
The biggest challenge was finding a space in my house where I could hula the hoop and not bump into anything. I think the hoop I have is a perfect size -- just way too heavy. I'm going to weigh it tomorrow and see how it compares with the ones you can get online. Time to do a little research and see what others are recommending.
Also . . . had enough time today to keep on walking at the track and I was actually able to walk 10,000+ steps and c.4.5 miles! I love using a pedometer and clocking it all in (couldn't resist taking photos of today's accomplishments -- think I'll even post them below :-).
It feels great to be able to do it -- and begin to meet the goal set by The Simple Diet plan -- gradually increasing activity to the amount where I'm burning an extra 2000 calories/week (page 98). Here's to hoping that I'll have the same window of opportunity tomorrow and do it again.
