4 miles - 4 lessons learned

So my housemate and I are training for Bloomsday, a 7.5 mile race through Spokane. We are on week 4 0r 5 I think, and are steadily running about 4 miles!!! I'm extremely excited about this because the last two weeks have been hectic with school, and also because sickness has been going around. so I didn't think we were doing very well or getting any farther along in training.
Today, however, the sunny was shining, the ground was warm, and there was a nice breeze blowing, so I was excited for this run- whether we got any farther or not. The whole run was wonderful- we chatted the whole time, kept pace, and waved and joked with all those passing by.
It was a great workout, and when I tracked it via Sparkpeople maps I was pleasantly surprised to see we had run 4 miles! WOOHOO!
So here are 4 things I have learned while training:
1. ALWAYS stick to routine- consistency never ends!
2. Listen to your body- if your having a rough run, it's ok, at least your sticking to routine!
3. Just Do It! And a great way to do so is to have a running buddy!
4. Have fun! If you don't enjoy it, you'll stop doing it. True story.
