Finding a Rhythm

Ever since Scott got his new job and is home every night of the week things have been so hard. I would think it would be easier because then we can eat balanced dinners together but its been harder. I am back in a bad rhythm of eating more then usual. If I could just stop over thinking it then it would be fine. There is no reason for me to be overeating right now. My period is not going on, ovulation is not happening. I have no excuses besides my own self control. Ate a 6 serving bag of jelly beans last night =(

I have been feeling so burned out lately. Waking up tired. Yesterday I went to work for 3 hrs and came home sick. I donno if I was actually sick or just needed a break. My boss hired two new girls at the start the yr and he gives them all the data entry and I get all the running around, moving stuff jobs. Which I like, but sometimes data entry is nice too so your body gets a rest.

I finally deleted my dad on facebook lol I added him awhile back not knowing that he doesnt know how to log on to facebook but just gets all my status's as emails. Last night he was making fun of something I said in a status. That's that privileges revoked, it's been long enough. Having your immediate family as your friends on facebook is just a terrible idea PERIOD! Theres this chinese buffet in town that my family loves. They come into town and go there and tell me if I wanna come I can or I don't have to see them lol Anyway they closed down for good yesterday.They took out a huge loan last yr and have not paid on it. I guess my parents visiting to eat there is over.

Ok mission of the day. Sit Scott down and tell him that I need his help to get back on the wagon. No more bringing food to bed at night, when he does it then I feel like I wanna get something too. Try to get him to work with me to get my butt back in gear. He used to eat a lot of garbage at his last job. Now he doesn't have that to rely on and eating more garbage here.

On another note I have been making lots of hummus! I made regular hummus last week. Last night I made a white beat hummus. Turned out pretty good. I need to get spices from work and delve into this deeper. Making hummus is so easy and so much better then any store bought stuff u can buy. I donno what they put in it to get the consistency they are all seem to have but's not good once u have the real stuff. Plus so much cheaper. 1 can of garbanzo beans is like 1.15 and a bottle of tahini is like 6-8 dollars and can make probably 8 batches of hummus. Lemon juice, olive oil, garlic cloves and spices. YUM!

    I'm into the mode now where I can overeat when with people or alone. Totally not a good thing. Stress is my enemy but I can't the stressors in my life right now.

    I'm exhausted too. I don't want to get up in the morning. I am not sleeping right again due to DST.

    I have no relatives on facebook. Mine ignore me. LOL.

    My hubby and I were just talking about how all the good restaurants that used to be here are almost all gone. Replaced by chain restaurants and fast food. Now even chains are going out of business. Casa Gallardo in the St. Louis area are gone. I liked it because they served real shredded meat in their food and not ground mystery meat. I guess the same company owns Chevys Fresh Mex but I have only eaten there once and the food wasn't memorable and the atmosphere crummy. The good side -less reason to cheat.

    It's hard to adjust, and that's a big change in your life! Just like everything else, there will be an adjustment period. Just tell Scott what's going on and that you need his help. You'll get it worked out, I'm sure :)

    Hummus is GREAT!! can adjust the lemon and tahini to suit. It helps to have fresh tahinini - if it gets stale, then it has a bit of a fitter taste...

    I am thinking @WINTERWINGS is referring to Baba Ghanoosh or sometimes spelled Ganoosj etc (it's all phonetic so anyone's guess how it is "spelled" in English) - that is at a lot of middle Eastern restaurants as well as the Hummus. Sometimes it's made with roasted eggplant (which really antes up the yum factor!) or the older way was to let it sit with salt and take the bitterness and water out before making. It can be made without the tahini and then it has another name, I can't remember, which still translates as Eggplant dip. Just that it doesn't have the tahini (which is essentially sesame seed butter, kinda like peanuts are to peanut butter.).

    I have never really liked hummus. I try but it doesn't do it for me. That said, I had something at a restaurant once that hubby said was eggplant and garlic or something and I could have eaten that every day forever. I'm not much for beans or lentils. Green beans, I like, other beans, I don't know. What's funny though is that when I was pregnant I REALLY wanted my mother's chili that has kidney beans in it.

    The hummus I make is just garbanzo beans, garlic, and olive oil. So yummy. I'm not a fan of lemon juice and I don't care much for tahini, but I could eat an entire batch of my hummus in one go!

    Doesn't it seem like it's SO hard to get into a good rhythm, and yet SO terribly easy to fall out of it?!
    Keep pressing hard...ever since I've joined Spark, you've been such an inspiration to me, because you're so real about everything - the ups and downs and struggles along the way.
    Keep it up - I know you can do it!
