Tired But Happy

Thursday, March 08, 2012

My mom came to visit me for a few days and we had a great time. She left this afternoon and while I love her to pieces I'm happy to be alone with the hubby again.

I bought a new pillow that I hope helps with the neck pain I've been having. If nothing else it'll be nice to not have a pancake pillow for a change. We also went to Goodwill to look around. I tried on a beautiful indigo sheath dress that still had the tags on it. It fit me perfectly & looked great but I'm losing weight and don't plan to be this size for long. The dress was $20 anyway & for Goodwill that's pretty expensive. And I don't have anything to wear the dress for in the near future anyway. So I convinced myself not to buy it by saying I'll find something even better when I drop to the next size.

My mom ended up buying a Leslie Sansone video. She watched me do my video yesterday & decided she wanted to try it too. So I convinced her to buy a video I didn't already have so we could trade videos once in a while. I am a little worried about her trying to do the videos though because she was supposed to have knee replacement surgury 10 years ago & she's been putting it off out of fear. She had her hip replaced about 5 years ago which she says had made her feel a lot better so it's frustrating she won't get her knee done. Everyone keeps telling her how much worse getting a knee done is compared to the hip though & that really doesn't help! Anyway... I helped her pick out a video that had a 19-minute walk rather than the usual 15-minute or faster. Hopefully this will be easier on her & she'll be more likely to keep it up, if her knee allows it.

My husband had a meeting at work today & they were able to earn rewards. Well the rewards ended up being candy bars including one of my favorites, Nestle Cookies & Cream(why couldn't I love dark chocolate instead?).

So now we have 6 candy bars sitting on the table calling to me. I think I'm going to allow myself 1/4th of the one candy bar & make it last for the next four days. That way it's not torturing me & I don't kill all my efforts by inhaling it. While I like the other candy bars, I think can leave them without too much problem.

If I had just a bite of candy, somehow, the rest would end up getting eaten. If I lived within what my mother calls 'cooking distance' I would probably be over 300 lbs by now. My parents live in Minnesota and I in Upstate NY though. I'm glad for your efforts and keep up the good work.
