Dear Spark Diary,
Today is my Friday! Yay!!!! We are heading out of town tomorrow to go to my son's wrestling state tournament. I am excited but will need to watch myself so that I stay on track with food. I am so glad I have the Spark People app to help me out!
My arms are feeling my workout from yesterday. I did my YMCA's bootcamp class and the trainer changed it up so that it basically follows tabata but the difference.... this class is 45 minutes long. The tabata classes at the Y are only 30 minutes. It was an awesome workout but trainer Barb does not like to take breaks. So when we had a chance to gulp some water you better be fast. We did an assortment of cardio and strength exercises. I started on the jump rope. To name a few we did;
bicep curls with the resistance bands
hopping over a row of hula hoops
triceps with a bar
rowing on the stability ball
chest press with the resistance bands
shoulder overhead press
I am sure I am missing something. I was dripping with sweat by the time I was done. Even my legs were sweating! The shower felt nice....
So this morning I wasn't feeling too bad except for my biceps and triceps. They are killing me.
My workout buddy was unable to go to the gym again today so I did another class. Call me crazy but I decided to go to tabata today. Guess who was the instructor?!?!? Miss drill sergeant Barb! I told her how angry my arms were to her but that I was back for more butt kicking.
I started on the push ups and was ready to cry. They really are sore.... hopefully I can move my arms tomorrow.
Then I moved to ski jumping using the step. This one wasn't too terrible. Plus it gave my arms a rest.
But the next one killed my poor arms / shoulders again cause we did planks. The first half you were supposed to move from elbows to hands while holding your plank. Then the second set of 4 planks were on your elbows holding a plank while your feet went side to side. Ouch!
Abs and arms received a break as I moved onto the jump squats using a step. She kept on yelling to have the squats deeper but you know how hard it is to jump up and squat deep while trying to go fast!
My last and final exercise was using the stability ball. This one looked so easy, all you had to do was sit on it and bounce up to a standing squat position and back down. You had to watch your ball and keep control. The first couple of 20 second sets were a breeze but by the fourth one my quads were screaming at me. Looked easy but not so much when you are doing a repetitive motion for 4 minutes!
So needless to say.... I am beat! This weekend I will be getting in that hot tub at the hotel. My muscles can use it.
Tomorrow morning to ensure I get a good workout in before the driving I am heading over to my friends house at 5:00 in the morning to do a insanity workout. That will give my day a great start and then I won't feel so bad for sitting so long in the car. Our hotel we are staying at has a mini gym so I plan on heading there in the evening. There is also the pool for swimming some laps.
Well I am beat and ready for a nap....
