The Simple Diet Journal #5 -- Solutions

Wednesday, March 07, 2012

So, here I am 1/2 way through Week 6!!!! It’s been 35 days on the Simple Diet, and I’m still as happy with this plan as ever.

Have tried so many times to find a moment and post a blog entry. Busy, busy, busy days.

Weight loss this week was small -- 1 lb -- but I was wondering if it was going to do the zero thing again (which is what happened during Weeks 2 and 3, after having lost 9lbs). So -- Number 1 -- I'll take you! Making for a total of 16lbs so far -- Yes!

I just found a diet log from a while ago -- what took me 5 weeks on this plan had taken me 8+ weeks on another. I had thought that to be the case (that I was losing more quickly), but seeing it all written down really helped confirm it.

Chapter Two of the Simple Diet book is titled "Discovering the Solution." For me, at this time in my life, I really feel like I have discovered a great solution for my weight loss goals and dreams.

Also in Chapter 2, Dr. A and Nancy say they have has developed “the most effective nonsurgical weight-loss and weight management approach that has ever been reported.” Page 9.

Boy, that's quite a claim! And usually I'm so wary of those types of statements. We're all so used to seeing lots of diet products and plans hyped up that it's really easy to be skeptical. But, so far, I have been finding it extremely effective for me -- and I'm still psyched.

Other things on my mind lately:

Motivation!

I'm amazed at how being on our Spark Team motivates me to keep on going. I know, I know -- that's the whole concept -- but it's a new experience for me.

I find myself remembering different people's stories while I go about the day. I find myself eager to hear about others and how they're doing; but, what's very unusual for me -- I find myself also eager to share what's been going on with me in Simple Diet Land. And, that's motivating, too.

Also, when I saw a 1lb weight loss, I must admit although I was prepared for a zero, I was hoping for more – yet, I still felt very happy. That’s an awesome feeling! And, I think the credit comes from hearing how others this week have been handling their weigh-in days – and their decisions to say, “Even on a lower-end weight loss week, it’s still a loss, so . . .Let’s keep going!”

Okay -- enough for now.

with smiles for you . . .

I have to agree about the Spark Team. I always kept dieting to myself but I like the openness of this group. It's also good to see what others are doing to get thru the hurdles. Where else would you find a plan that says if you are still hungry have an extra entree or shake?!?! emoticon

Good job. Even a 1 pound loss is a loss and from what I have read not only in this book but others 1 pound each week is best. Sure we like seeing big numbers but when we do and get off course then it comes back quicker. I am in the same area as I only lose 1 or so a week. Been on this 4 weeks now. Just happy as you are with any loss.

Sounds like everything is coming together for you! Any loss is a good loss, and size really doesn't matter.

I've had personal trainers, consultants, mentors..... None of them have offered as much support as our Spark Team!
