First day on

This is my first day on Realizing I need to do something about this weight and that is why I am here. I am going to get fit and stay that way by watching what I eat and exercising. I know it may be tough in the beginning but if I put my mind to it then I CAN DO IT. I walked around the block 1 time but as the days go by and the weight comes off and I see results..then I know I am working hard..!!

    Take one day at a time, one step at a time and you will most definitely get there. Great going with walking around the blog, that's a fantastic start. Keep building on that and I've no doubt you will be one o the success stories.

    emoticon to SparkPeople!! This site is a LIFE CHANGER! Everything this site has to offer is phenomenal. I never would of thought complete strangers would be so motivating!! ...but they don't stay strangers - the online community here is AMAZING!

    You will come across a LOT of different advice on this site but you hafta find what works for you! A couple things that work for me:

    1) cutting back my coffee intake and adjusting what I put in it [I was drinking like 6- 8 cups a day with 3 1/2 tsp. of sugar! Now I'm like "god what was I thinking!" emoticon ]

    2) actually TRYING to drink 8 cups of water - it definitley took a little time to work up to 8+ but it's the effort that counts emoticon

    3) finding exercise I actually ENJOY doing! I really like Jillian Michaels DVD's ... $9 @ walmart btw... because its short 30 min workouts and it's 3 short circuits. I started with 30 Day Shred and stayed on level 1 for a month and half!

    4) and last but not least, make it FUN! I am in love with cardio kickboxing emoticon I go twice a week - I really tried to be "gym girl" and I just don't feel it there. I go to kickboxing at a karate place and it's generally the same group of girls/ ladies every week give or take a few. It is phenomenal! The instructor pushes you when you need it all the ladies become really encouraging cuz ur all there to do the same thing!

    One of the emoticon tools here are the nutrition and fitness trackers! The 1st time I truly entered in what I was eating for the entire day... I got the BIGGEST wake-up call! I had no clue I was consuming so many calories/ carbs/ sodium etc. and then at the end of the day you can run your daily feedback. It tells you hints or hoorays as to what you can do to stay in your nutrition ranges.
