All right...determined to make this week amazing. I just gave the hubs an exfoliating back massage. Now that he has a more physical job, I thought this would be nice so he could relax and nap before his other gig. I am going to nap with him, since I wouldn't get much time with him otherwise! Then, on the docket for the rest of the evening (to get ready for the week ahead):
*Run! Still building up, and just a wee bit behind where I want to be. However, if I get four runs in this week, and four next, I should be back on track!
*Laundry. Necessary evil. The hamper is clearly illustrating that I have been slacking in this area. Still nowhere near where it was in the past when we could close the door on the laundry monster, but if I don't do a few loads tonight it will easily get out of control. Plus, I think our co-workers will appreciate us being in clean clothes.
*Cooking. Going to put together my last piece of marinated fish and a huge helping of broccoli for lunch tomorrow. I had my first experience making marinade this last week. I only had red wine vinegar on hand, which was okay, but I think that for marinade I would prefer balsamic or else I need to adjust the ratios. Not a bad first foray, though.
*Clipping coupons. We are due for a big grocery run. With my exhaustion this last week there was some cheating. However, the last big trip we made where we used coupons and took advantage of sales we saved nearly half our bill. Instead of close to $100, we spent just over 50. That was what we would spend easily in two sessions of eating out, and it was food for many, many meals plus detergent and vitamins. I need to keep remembering that, and keep clipping those coupons!
*Vision/Inspiration boards. I finally started looking at a friend of a friend's blog. She has run two marathons and is now training for a fitness competion. (Two of my goals!) Her inspiration boards reminded me that I was going to work on those. I want a couple for work, one for my locker and one for my tool cart so I remember what I am working for. I mean, I can think of plenty of places I would rather be...but I need dollars and resources to make that happen. I think having some reminders will help. Then, one for at home will help keep me from succumbing to the pizza monster!
Plus, I figured out that if I can lose 3 pounds this week, I will be back on track for my goal. Since I have just been going for a pound (two if I'm lucky) a week, one week of three is do-able, especially if it keeps me from falling behind. With an extra run, and a clean eating plan for this week I don't see a problem. I just need to remember to drink water when I am at my desk instead of coffee. When I am in CAD mode, it is really easy to just guzzle the coffee and forget all about water. I think that extra hydration will help. Also, I am aiming to get 8 hours of sleep each night this week. Study after study is showing that a sleepy mind is one that causes overeating. I know I am guilty of scrimping on sleep! It tends to be the first thing I cut! So, in order to work on my goals I must catch those zzzzzs.
Feel free to keep me accountable this week! Make sure I'm sleeping, running, hydrating, and sticking to eating clean! Hopefully, all these good habits will also help me get lots of points for the HP team, too!
Enjoy the last of the weekend, friends. Here's to a fantastic week!!!
