When my sister and I and our two cousins were little, my grandmother bought the book John F. Kennedy and the Young People of America: Compiled and edited from the thousands of letters written to the President and Mrs. Kennedy. She read to us at bedtime, and we loved to hear what other children like us had written. I still have the book, published in 1965.

Thanks to my grandmothers, I am a lifelong bookaholic!
