What We've Done Right this Week!

I decided to add the "we've done right" because I do get motivated by your comments on this blog about what you've done right this past week. So do share "What did you do right this past week?".

For me, let's see...
1. It feels great that another Sparker has taken up the call to start her week off on a positive note and blog about what she's done right. emoticon "TravelGrrl"

2. Another Sparkfriend has commented more than once that I am inspiring her to think about running. No matter what she does with that, the fact that I've helped someone else think about their health journey with my activity on SP is a boost for me.

3. I came down with a cold last week... UGH, but the full blown cold only lasted for 2 days and the lingering malaise another 2 days. I truly believe that my "sick" time was greatly reduced because I am so much healthier now than I was before. Plus when the snot started flowing, I doubled up on my fruits each day last week. emoticon emoticon

4. I did survive my oldest son turning 16 last week and quickly realized that was the easy part!

I guess that's enough for now. I stay active on SP to keep myself accountable and motivated. Hearing from SparkFriends, educating myself with the articles, and reading the honest, sometimes gut-wrenching blogs of other Sparkers have all been vital for me to turn my health around.

and so I keep blogging, reading, and commenting

    I lost my way a little bit. I started to question why I'm doing these unfamiliar and uncomfortable things. I asked myself, "Is it worth it?" I started to question whether this is really a lifestyle change--or just another diet, posing as something bigger.

    Then, with the help of my wife and my SparkFriends, I found my way back--and I'm very glad to be here!

    I was angry - right out loud, without being accusative, without being abusive, without being nasty - just said I was angry and then got on the bike to help take care of the extra adrenaline. Best of all I DID NOT EAT ABOUT IT!!!

    I stayed on track tracking, I navigated the teenage minefield successfully with my kid, I was patient with my mom when I wanted to scream, I made a difficult decision about a pet--and I did it all without using the food. Its been 64 days and each day it becomes more of a habit.

    Yesterday I went with the friends from the local cycling club for a ride in the mountains. It took 4 and a half hours and we covered about 31 miles. I fell twice, but nothing important, a couple of bruises here and there. I am glad that I went on riding the bike.
