Tainted OJ Part 2
Sunday, February 26, 2012
Back on jan 10, i wrote a blog on tainted OJ and how some of it is mixed with OJ from brazil. My brother was just reading an article to me on skype. civileats.com/2009/05/06
The article is very enlightening and some of it I do recall hearing on the ABC new report in January. What it does tell us, in short, is that no one out there has "fresh" OJ because it is stored in vats and stripped of oxygen so that it can be stored for a year. Then, each company buys flavor packets to add back INTO the orange juice so that it can taste like--you know--orange juice. And march through June is the only time that you are guaranteed to get 100% USA made orange juice because that it the hieght of the growing season for the Florida Valencia oranges, which is the king of the oranges.
So, my plan is to empty the freezer and stock up on OJ during this season so i can have it year round.
