Surgery went well, so the doctor says. However, after 9 days I'm still in a high degree of pain when standing or walking. I'm not sure what the problem is but this not what I had expected. I expected some discomfort but this is ridiculous. Pain is much worse then before sugery and at this point I can honestly say I wish I'd never had it done. I see the on the 28th. Hoping I'm a bit better by then. Please keep prayers coming for the pain to abate and the healing to begin. Thanks.

I used lots and lots of ice and it helped. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Sometimes our expectations are very high after surgery, you are only nine days out and hopefully it will be better soon, take some time to rest and see what happens then give your doctor a call. Remember the stress of wanting it to heal can also add to the pain. Praying for you. emoticon

I hope things work out better for you. 9 Days is not very long. Pain lasts a while. After all you were cut open, and the nerves don't like that. Hopefully the pain will diminish over time. Meanwhile, enjoy the pain meds! They take away your appetite, and you might lose some weight in the process. I remember when you lost 20 lbs. after knee surgery. Have to look on the bright side of something!

As with the others, I'm so sorry to hear you're in such pain. Prayers have never stopped, but will say a few extra! I agree -- don't try to tough it out, call the doctor's office now. You need to have relief!

I'm so sorry to hear that you are experiencing so much post-op pain. You aren't trying to tough it out without your pain meds, are you? Seriously, taking them before the pain gets bad is wise and therapeutic. (Here I go giving advice!) My doc has his patients taking pain meds on a schedule at first to get ahead of the pain. I slept a lot, but was able to do my therapy and get my walking in.

On the other hand, if it's much worse than pre-op, I'll chime in with others. Call your doctor.

I'm so sorry you're in pain. I think I'd call the Doc and see if this is normal or if there might be a problem. I'm wishing you the best!

Oh no...didn't want to hear that! I agree with Diana (pugrad) that it may need just some more healing time....if it stays worse I wouldn't even wait til the 28th!!! CALL the dr or at the very least call and talk to his nurse - she can tell you if that's normal or need to go thru this much pain if not needed.

P.S. I didn't have that MUCH pain after my surgery but I had some all along (much milder than yours I know) but it did take me a whole year b/f I could say "I'm glad I did this" So don't give up hope! Pausing to pray for you now......
