I just wanna eat

I just want to eat. I am so use to eating all the time. I watch tv I eat - I want popcorn every time I sit in front of the tv - which is often. I am not hungry - I just want to eat. I eat dinner and am full but I want to eat more. I am so use to eating and eating all the time. I really miss ice cream - I use to sit with the carton of ice cream and eat a lot of it. I did buy some ice cream sandwiches last week and had one for dessert and counted the calories but I used to eat half the box of them at one time.

When will I get used to eating less? When will I quit craving to eat more and more?

Anyway I am doing well these last few weeks with my eating and I think I need to add a few more treats and count the calories so I feel less deprived. I think I will stick to it better if I do.

    Thanks for the advise. I do use the food tracker and it keeps me from eating more because I realize I am at the end of my calories. I use to crochet maybe I should start again so I have something to do with my hands.

    Are you using the nutrition tracker on SparkPeople? It is a critical tool for success!
    By using it, you can check to see if your protiens and HEALTHY fats are in the porportions they should be to keep you from feeling hungry. Spark recommends 30% healthy fats, 20% protien and 50% carbs.
    Eating too many carbs makes some people feel hungrier than if they are in balance. Try doing mostly protien and healthy fats in the 1st part of the day, and try to get your carbs from whole foods. AND be sure to drink AT LEAST 64 oz of water a day. It works for me-I hardly ever feel hungry anymore!

    I'm with ya... I am like Pavlov's dog: sit in front of the TV, grab a snack, eat mindlessly. Since January, I have been really trying very hard to not eat after dinner (or while making dinner, if the truth be told), which is when my family watches TV. First it was really, really hard - I had to amost tie my hands down! LOL! But now, almost 2 months later, I find I crave a big glass of ice water and that's about it. I do like to add lemon or lime to it. Last night my husband and son were eating cookies and ice cream, and I can say with all honesty that I didn't even want any. I guess the moral of the story is, give it time. You just have to get out of the habit of eating every time you sit down. I have also gotten back to quilting and knitting, so I have something to do with my hands, which helps, too.

    I noticed a long time ago that I eat out of boredom. So whenever I feel like eating because there is nothing else to do, I did something healthy instead. Pre-kids... I would go to the gym. I swear I was at the gym like 3 times a day lol. Now that I have kids I can't exactly pick up and go... so every time I feel tempted to eat out of boredom, I get on the treadmill, or play the wii. Life is all about choices, and this journey is bout making healthier choices. By all means, don't deprive yourself if you're hungry, but if you're eating out of boredom, try to change those habits into healthy ones, it worked and still does work for me :)

    emoticon hang in there you can do this!! Try keeping a bottle of water in your hand that has helped me. Also when you get the craving to eat, write down your thoughts. It is hard but you can do it. Set your self small goals each day. emoticon emoticon Judy
