NEW HIP TOMORROW :)

Monday, February 20, 2012

Wow, I can't believe it has been so long since I've written a bolg.
I moved and have been trying to settle in for a month now, it has been really hard; I do a bit and have to take a break, then get up and do some more. I am so sick and tired of being in pain, I CAN NOT wait till tomorrow gets here. I am having a hip replacement. finally!!!! emoticon I have been waiting nearly two months since my last dr apt. Most of last year I could not do anything without much pain, couldn't even walk very far without taking a break... and I have gained back every bit + the weight that I had lost. I will get back at it this year, I will NOT let this weight get the best of me, but I will NEED help - i don't even know where to begin.. It has been so long since I've been able to do anything, but I WILL get it done :) I'm sure it will be awhile before I am allowed to do much, but as soon as I can I'll be here begg'n for help.
Then I went without internet for a couple of weeks, and now I try to get on each day and read my e-mails and stuff, but I can not sit in the same spot for very long.. (I've already taken 2 breaks while writing this:( Oh well after tomorrow I'll be all better ( I hope :)
well got to go finish packing my bag and find something for dinner, NO food or drink and after midnight :( I always drink a BIG mug full of water every night - well I'm sure I'll survive, I've done it before. At least my surgery is scheduled for noon, so maybe I'll be able to have at least ice chips by 5 or 6 (I hope)
Well to all my wonderful spark friends, have a GREAT week, and I'll be back as soon as I can

thank you all for you well wishes. I know all about getting right out of bed & PT. I have had both knees replaced ( one a second surgery where they replaced half of the replacement) Being that my surgery is at noon I hoping to be out of bed tomorrow night - but they have to manipulate my "re-dune" knee again; not doing as well as dr. wants :(
thanks again see ya all soon

They will start walking you either that same day or the next to get your hip back into action. At least that is what the people who told me that is what they done to them. I know that when I had my knee done they got me up the next day after surgery and then off to PT. Make sure that you listen to what the PT tells you and make sure that you do all the exercises they tell you too. That will get you back to using your hip better and sooner too. The more you use it the better time that it gets back to healing and working for you.

Haha, GrannyS5 - when I read your blog title, I read it as "New, hip, tomorrow!" and I wondered what you were going to do to make your tomorrow so "hip"! :)
But now I read it and I understood that you're actually getting a new hip tomorrow - totally different topic! :)
Anyway, best of luck to you. From what I understand, you'll be better than ever very quickly!
