Not a fan of Muffin Tops

Sunday, February 19, 2012

I bought a new scale this week, the old one was... old and gray and possibly untrustworthy. That may sound like I bought a new scale because the old one was simply stating the fact that I wasn't losing any weight and that drove me crazy. But no, the old one was suspiciously too kind the second week I stepped on it but to be honest, I just wanted a new scale and I wanted it to be white. So there.

The number this week on my new scale compared to last week's number on my old scale doesn't really tell me anything. I'm using other measurement tools like a measurement tape as well. I'm also going to use clothes and pictures to measure my progress. I plan to take pictures of myself every two weeks wearing a pair of pants and a tank top. My Muffin Top clothes combo (at the moment at least). I've never done that kind of record keeping before so I'm excited about that.

I track my food almost religiously. I try my best to keep within my limits and I exercise 6x a week for at least 90 minutes per day.
I know I may have to push a little harder because of my hypothyroidism and I'm fine with that. I'm also prepared to see smaller numbers each week because of my condition and I'm fine with that too. As long as I'm not using hypothyroidism as an excuse, I will shed the weight. I did it before, I will do it again.

If you track your food and are getting good exercise - it WILL pay off. Sometimes it just takes a while. I'm struggling with this as well. Hang in there!
