Frustrated and feeling down

Sunday, February 19, 2012

I am frustrated and feeling kinda down right now. I am not seeing progress on the scale like I normally do when starting to eat right and exercising again. I have tried giving myself a pep talk but somehow its just not the same coming from yourself (if you know what I mean). But I have fought the "devil" on my shoulder that says to just give up....shot down the "why bothers" and kept going. I know deep down inside from past experience that if I keep trying that my hard work will pay off eventually (right?!). So even when my family got pizza and breadsticks today and I wanted to just jump in and eat right along side them I didn't. I got on the website and figured out what one slice would be and that is what I had--1 slice of pizza. I ate it slowly and enjoyed every bite!! I even went for a walk outside this afternoon and went to the park with my son and threw his rugby ball around for awhile till my fingers were so cold I couldn't feel them. So, even though I am frustrated I haven't given up...and that is progress in the right direction!! (But if the scale wants to budge I wouldn't mind that either!)

I can relate to the feelings you are expressing. Just keep working at it and try to enjoy the journey. Then the frustrations will start to dissolve.

I love how you stuck with it! That is a much bigger accomplishment than any scale can give you!! I know the feeling. I've been dealing with the same thing the last two weeks. But reading your blog gave me courage. Thank you!! emoticon

I remember that phase...I just went two weeks without the scale going anywhere...not even in the went up once...but who wants that? Sometimes you can't pay attention to that dang scale...Start measuring your body you might a difference that way!! Anything to keep you! I know you can do it!!!! emoticon

It can be frustrating. I hope you don't give up but look at what you are doing and make small adjustments. One of the things past programs have done is a very limiting food plan and you get fast results. Give this more time. You didn't gain weight 2-3 pounds a week, so to expect it to fall off at that rate isn't all that realistic

Not giving up or giving in is the first step! You are headed in the right direction! Keep putting one foot in front of the other like you are and those scales will give you the good news you want! :) HUGS!

It is truly harder as we get older. But we are mature and MORE patient than in our 20's. Keep pushing!

I have the same frustrations.. but I know I don't account for every morsel all the time. I work out hard - but food is the enemy at times for me.

You'll figure it out.. my new motto "ONE POUND AT A TIME".,... I don't worry about 5 or 20 or 40.. just one at a time!

I am frustrated also. My husband is in the hospital, and my eating is way out of whack. Hopefully, I can get back on track very soon.
