Slow Carb diet

I've been following Thomas Ferriss' Slow carb diet for the last 2 weeks or so. In 3 weeks alone I've dropped 12 1/2 pounds. Crazy, I know. But I promise you, I woke up this morning, put on my pants (which a month ago were too tight) and they fell off of me. For reals.
I've got a challenge going on with a gentleman friend of mine in which we're both doing this diet and measuring ourselves; at the end of March whoever loses the most gets a massage and dinner of their choice. It's an awesome challenge and what's really helpful is having someone there who is doing exactly what I'm doing. We're both about to positively support one another even if we are competing against each other.
I've been working with my doctor and he had me cut down on calories in addition to doing this high protein type diet. I'm learning more about portion control and recognizing the signals my body gives me when it is full. This is a huge step from last year in which I was eating until I was practically hurting. I wasn't understanding my body and how it was reacting to 1) too much food and 2) to food that it didn't like in large amounts.
I've started walking during my lunch for about a half an hour and that is really nice. I get some sun, some fresh air and exercise all at once. It's a good deal.
I hope all of you are keeping up the good work; I mostly lurk on here, not much with the postings, but I will try to do it a little more often.
