Small Victories

Monday, February 13, 2012

Hey everyone! Wow so I’ve been meaning to post a new blog for a week now but haven’t gotten around to it so I’ve decided to take a mini break here at work and finally jot some of my thoughts down.

I’m still weighing in 159-160 on a daily basis so no new lbs have come off in the past 2 weeks BUT I did have a few mini shopping victories!! First I went to Kohl’s to buy some new running shoes but they didn’t have the shoe I liked in my size so I swung by the clearance racks and found several jackets for 60-80% off. I picked up a few smalls and a few mediums….EVERY SINGLE SMALL FIT!!! I was so excited! My first reaction though was “whoa, these brands sizing is way off!” but then I told myself “who cares, the tag says small!” ha-ha. I ended up buying two jackets, one was normally $130 and I got it for $ 26 (steal!), and the other was normally $74 and I got it for $36.

Then I walked down to Victoria Secret because I have been in desperate need of a beige bra to wear under white tanks, all my bras were black, animal print or bright pink so I would have to layer tanks like crazy in order to camouflage them under a white shirt!! Anyway at my heaviest I was a 40/42DD, in December I went and got fitted and was 36C. To my wonderful surprise they just measured me at a 34D! When she told me 34 I said “34!? NO way! Skinny people wear 34’s!!” The lady just laughed at me but I was honestly somewhat in shock. I thought when I put the bra on that it was going to feel like a corset but it didn’t….it fit! I called and immediately told my mom but she’s been thin her whole life so I don’t think she understood the magnitude of it for me. Oh well, I can’t wait to go back and buy more now :)

That’s about it for now …. Still been getting my workouts in. Oh, and one more thing…I started tracking my runs with daily mile, anyone else use it? January I ran 25 miles (in addition to other workouts of course). This month I am aiming for 35 miles and then I will continue progressively building up to what I was running last summer (like 90 miles/wk!). As the weather gets nicer I’ll run more outdoors, its so hard to log that many miles on the dreadmill.

Have a great week guys! Be the best you that you can be!

Good Job girl!! Glad you got in a nice shopping trip. Kohls is one of my favorite stores because it's close to me & never crowded like the mall :) Ever since having kids my boobs stay big...funny how I always wanted that. But now I see how it's hard to shop for tops & I'm always worried about how much cleavage is showing. Anyway, hopefully with exercise I'll get back down to small tops. Keep it up missy!

See how all your hard work is paying off, even if the scale stays the same? :)
    You go girl!

I love fitting into different sizes, even when they are in my own closet. I have kept a few things that I should have gotten rid of and have managed to fit back into them and that gives me such joy!
