Why are you so good to me!

Sunday, February 12, 2012

Yes this is the time of the year when my thoughts flow to valentines day and most importantly our 54 years of marriage Thursday.
Over this long period we both have had to ask for forgiveness many times. Marriage is like an occupation, [job], you have to work at it daily.
This fall started a new challenge for our 73 year old bodies. GLBH starting hurting, back-leg-hip while helping me harvest corn. She is short and we thought it was caused from her climbing up into the tractor. After many visits to Chiropractor and him then referring her to a Specialist, Xrays showed Arthritis . My Dad always said of all those Itties boys Aurther was the worst. Sick joke. We now are in the process of getting a hip replacement. More on that at another time.
She has gotten somewhat better does some cooking when the stove happens to work.LOL
On top of her hip problems she came down with the flue the other day, even ended up on the bathroom floor after fainting, thank goodness did not get hurt more. Since we share everything I too got it. Both are doing much better now except appetite.
This brings me back to the title of this blog. She told me "why are you so good to me and don't know what I would do without you"! Caught me a little off guard. I said because I'm your loving husband and know you would do the same for me!
Happy Anniversary and Valentines day Love, let's keep this thing going till we get it right.

Aww you two are so sweet. Although I can't have 54 years of marriage unless I married my sweetheart right now and lived to 106 and 104, I want what you two have! (& I am willing to work for it!) Best wishes to both of you!

Congratuations, Skeeter, to both of you for making the serious commitment and staying the course. We are about four years behind you with our 50th coming up in August. I have had a knee replaced and she is going through some shoulder problems. We are still riding our motorcycles and plan to continue that as long as we can. Take the Mrs. out to diner to enjoy Valentine's Day. And the flu has missed us so far this winter and that is a good thing.

Happy Anniversary! I see true love in your marriage. My husband and I just celebrated our 26th anniversary last week and feel blessed also. Having someone there for you no matter what happens in life is the best feeling in the world. I hope you both are feeling better soon and wish your wife well with her hip.
