Today was a hard day to get myself motivated, however I did complete over 5,000 steps, so woo hoo! I also decided to share my journey with some of my co-workers who are going to be nothing but supportive, and I couldn't be happier! I really thought that they would judge me weird, but they offered some really great advice, and I gained a "workout" buddy. We decided that in order to get some fitness time in, we would take a few minutes every hour to get away from our desk and get moving! What I plan to do at work next week is, for at least 2 days, I will get up every hour and talk a walk down the hall or just stretch. Then I will take a 10-15 minute break (where I normally go outside to smoke) to shut my door and do some wall push ups or lunges. Super excited to get some extra time in without the distraction of food or television!

Terrific and right in line with new research that tells all of us who sit for much of work to do...get up and move throughout the day...10 mins at break, a few steps in between, and maybe 10 mins or so at lunch..it adds up and it's ALL great for you...wtg on the 5,000 steps!
