I wonder why

Friday, February 10, 2012

I have been thinking, always a dangerous thing I know. I made a comment on a facebook page news story. I was instantly attacked by many people with a differing opinion. I am a hater, shouldn't be allowed to walk the face of the earth, need to shut up and never speak again. I didn't say anything mean, other people were expressing the same opinion as me. Why is it that if you don't agree with someone you have to call them names and treat them like they commited a crime. I even had one girl private message me and tell me to shut up. I read all the background on the story so I knew what was going on. I just didn't agree with some of the people. When did that become a crime. I know I should just let this go but for whatever reason I can't. It is 2am and I am still lying here thinking about it. Is freedom of speech just for some and not for others? Are we all supposed to think exactly the same. This isn't the first time this has happened but for some reason it is really bothering me. I know there are no answers, just hoping getting it out will help. Probably won't but it didn't hurt to try.

i go through these things also..when someone does believe me or trust me or wants to judge me for my beliefs..I get my feelings hurt I think that is human. when this happens and I feel like i am bad person and I try to line myself with what people want that is..co-dependency. That is not a good thing either, I think the answer for me is build my self esteem up, find out who I am really and when I know that and I feel good about that what other think or say wont matter...easy to say, not so easy to do..I am working on it

    On FB anything goes...
which is why you'll never see me there (again)!!!!
If you wrote: "it is a lovely day today!" some turkey would use even that comment as springboard for lunacy-laden critique! "Social Networks" are too often quite anti-socially employed.

Polite and well-stated arguments against an opinion can be healthy as a means of opening our minds to others' perceptions/viewpoints/etc, but verbal attacks and name-calling are unacceptable even from 3-year-olds. Too bad some people's minds don't develop fully enough to grasp that. But... that is THEIR problem, yes?

Well I hope you were able to sleep. People don't like it when others disagree with them. I think you were right in voicing your own opinion. After all, isn't that what is was all about!

DON'T LET IT BOTHER YOU... YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.. WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY WHAT WE WANT TO SAY AND WHEN WE WANT TO SAY IT... JUST LET IT GO.. NOT WORTH YOU STRESSING YOURSELF OVER IT.. emoticon
