A new way to look at weight loss

Old Thought: I've tried, for years, over and over, to lose weight. I've succeeded, but then let down my guard and it all came back. Sound familiar?

New Thought 1: Since I have changed my diet in August I have experienced dramatic and rapid changes to the quality of my health and life. I have actually SEEN the effects of eating differently. (Anti-inflammatory foods to vegetarian to vegan)

New Thought 2: There has been a lot in the media lately about using a calorie restrictive diet to improve and extend one's life.

Conflation of Thoughts 1 & 2: Cutting calories for the sake of looking prettier was not an idea that could sustain my efforts, but since I believe in #1, I think I might be able to hang my hat on #2. I can live according to this new reasoning, because it has nothing to do with a fleeting image. Now, I've been restricting calories for a reason, not for a look, and I don't resent the way I eat this time. I feel positive, not deprived.

Maybe this will stick. The old way never did!

Very interesting and encouraging take in things. Since I have changed my diet, I think I can possibly also hang my hat on the second idea.
