I think I'm sliding into a depression

Tuesday, February 07, 2012

Usually, I don't know it 'til it's over.
Despite feeling good from my diet, I've noticed that my breath, sweat and pee smell funny, like plastic.
Most recently, I'm tired all the time, always want to sleep, do not want to engage with people and have no desire to get anything done, even started.
If I'm right, and this isn't just MS rearing its ugly head, this would be the first time I could feel it coming on.
Next, I'm going to tell a few friends that I think I'm depressed. Then I might call my doctor though I don't want to take MORE drugs.

    So sad to hear this.
I take anti depressants for my MS but also I put 2 tablespoons of Barlean's Flax Oil in an 8 oz. cup of orange juice every morning and it is amazing the difference it makes. It takes about a week or so to work, but if I stop taking it, I feel it within a day or 2.

When you find the name of the book, let's post it on the message boards

My husband is reading a fabulous book I bought for him on my Kindle.. It's Not all In your Head... I need to look up the author. When he is done with it I am going to delve in. He has been amazed at all the medical reasons for depression with MS. I bought it for just that reason.. There is such a stigma to depression for him (myself I've had it on and off for years).. So for him to read about the actual physical effects of MS on the body and the chemical reactions that take place thereby causing depression. It's been a godsend. I am going to start reading through the MS diet book and see if I can help change his diet and maybe help boost his mood from there. He too has just begun noticing the slide down into depressive states. Keeping you in my prayers... Stay Strong!! emoticon

Take good care of yourself. I get the same way where I don't want to be around anyone but my dog or family. Sometimes we do need a healthy break from people and time to be alone. But you know yourself and so do your friends. Just keep us posted. Victoria

How are your vitamin D levels. Low D can cause many symptoms including depression like ones. Most folks who live in northern climates are vitamin D deficient.
