So, I've been wanting to get an elliptical for awhile now, however, they are a 'BIT' pricey. At once point I was going to use our Christmas money, but alas, DH wanted a tool for his workshop.

However, I now have the funds and I ordered my elliptical last night! WooHoo! It will arrive this Sat, and then the'll come to put it together next Saturday (or sooner if I can work that out!) DH "could" put it together, but it would involve some cursing and a general foul mood afterwards, and besides, he's got alot on his plate already. So, it was worth the extra money! PLUS, when I went to order it last night, there was an extra $100 taken off the price. SWEET.

Now I can cancel my gym membership that I haven't used. Why? Because since I started working outside the home, the gym is BUSY when I get there after work. I like working out, but I'm not going to stand in line for it! I could also walk outside, however by the time I get around to it, it's dark outside and I'm just not comfortable walking around by myself at night.

So, here's to getting an elliptical and USING IT!!! I come from a line of using fitness equipment as additional clothes hangers! LOL So, you all better hold me accountable to using it!

Enjoy your elliptical emoticon I don't use mine as much as I should but it keeps calling my name every time I watch TV.

Congrats! I'm sure you will enjoy many fitness hours with your new "toy". That's what I prefer to call my treadmill, as it makes it sound much more fun. I understand your reasons for purchasing your own equipment and I'm looking forward to hearing about your many adventures together.

Love my elliptical too - got it second hand and it's a phenomenal way to exercise! (little kitty is demonstrating in my photo) Ours is in front of the computer so I can slip a DVD in or watch something on hulu. Check out Bike-o-vision - there are some awesome places you can go to - "virtual reality". Keep up the great work! emoticon

Yay congratulations! Now you have no excuse for not working out. I don't blame you on not walking alone at night, I am slightly afraid of going anywhere by myself at night.

P.S. good idea on not letting her hubby put it together. emoticon

My elliptical is the first piece of equipment I didn't use as a clothes hanger, so I know you can use yours too! :D

Jealous!! But also very happy for you. Enjoy it! If you REALLY want to be accountable you can have hubby take a pic of you using it at least once a week and post a "dated" picture on here! LOL, I know what you mean by clothes hangers. My son had a punching bag in the garage that I used to drape wet coats over!

Good for you! I'm jealous with envy! I would love to buy my own elliptical. That's my favorite way to workout at the gym. I find that working out first thing in the morning is best. Then it's done for the day! Good luck to you! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Congrats on the elliptical! Being patient and waiting got you $100 off so WooHoo! Dropping the cost of the gym membership will also help 'pay' for the machine.

I have that same husband and it really is better to wait than to stir up that hornet's nest. Besides, mine likes to use me as "the helper" so I get to watch the frustration up close. No thanks! I'll pay to avoid that :)

Post here how you're doing with it. When I use the treadmill, the workout goes faster if I'm watching my favorite show, movie or listening to music.

    Have fun Sarah!
