January Challenge Complete!

So pleased to report that I lost 7 pounds and 6.5 inches in January! Momentum really helped keep me going, although I found myself changing up on the exercise...not sure if it was good or bad. I started the month with daily strength workouts (targeting one area of my body each time) along with daily minimum 10-minute cardio.

As the month progressed, I upped my cardio length, but did them only 4 or 5 days instead of 6 or 7. Strength training dropped to 3 or 4 days, still targeting one area. I saw my weight loss slow, but not disappear.

Trying to get back on the ball with more regular strength workouts or changing them to full-body and keeping it 3 to 4 days. I'm really enjoying the longer cardio (Leslie Sansone 4 mile or brisk 1.2 mile walk through my HILLY street), but I want to be sure I've worked out at least 20 minutes 5 or 6 times each week.

Still struggling over the veggies! Fruit is better, protein goes back and forth, but I just can't seem to get solid with the vegetables. I enjoy a good salad, but not every day; I guess I just have to just experiment and try new methods. Purchased the Sparkpeople Cookbook, so I am looking forward to learning new (fun and TASTY) ways to meet that goal.

Overall, my enthusiasm is great, my attitude is 180 degrees from where it had been, and I am wearing clothes I had considered tossing just a couple of months ago because they finally fit again and look great! Glad I haven't gotten around to that closet :)

    Fiona and I have been going to high intensity water aerobics at the Y on Monday and Wednesday morning, you could join us. 45 minutes of cardio with various weights. Then I wouldn't be the youngest adult. :)
