Hard Week End - I Lost

Monday, January 30, 2012

Well I'm so glad that I can start over every day! This week end we had a party for two birthdays in my family. Happy event but I kind of lost control. Great cheese ball - we usually only have it at Christmas but we just happened to have another one. It's the one thing I really love. Ok so there were two things I really love - the other is the white chocolate eclair cake my daughter made. I had both so I really have to work this week.
Sorry partner - I will walk, and walk, and walk!! The only thing that stopped me from seconds was the challenge I'm on and thinking about how much damage it does to my body. At least I thought about it. Last year I wouldn't have even thought about it.
Today will be quiet and I will have to find a way to stay busy - maybe finish up my book that I'm scrap booking or start a scarf for the kids without scarfs.
A gal at our knits scarfs with a group that gives them to kids for the cold weather.

My dog won't go for a walk with me so I guess I'll go alone or hit the treadmill first.

Everyone have a great day and remember that you can keep going - start over - and stay healthy.

Not giving up is a win that defeats all losses put together! I don't blame you for loving the cheese ball and cake, I would too, but I'm imlressed you stopped yourself from seconds. Big win!

They say we shouldn't deny ourselves the things we love, just have them as special occasion foods. So I am glad you enjoyed your family gathering and your yummy foods, and I am sure you will be even more determined now to stick to your healthy eating goals.

We all stumble from time to time. Some people even have a designated cheat day so they plan that into their diet. This way they don't seem to binge eat. Congrats on having the restraint on seconds. What works for one doesn't necessarily work for another. Who ever comes up with an effective "One size fits all in a diet" will be everyone's hero.

    Keep up the good work!

You did good not going back for seconds. My favorite is banana pudding from my mother's recipe, made with custard and not vanilla pudding. It is my one real weakness and I only make it at Thanksgiving and Christmas, although this past year only at Thanksgiving. I really called on all of my will power to have only a small amount and gave half of what was left to our guests. The next day I again had a small amount and then made my son and his friend eat the rest. It didn't seem to adversely affect my BS but I still know that I can now only have it in small amounts. It is a good thing I don't really like birthday cake since we had three family birthdays in January!!. Good job on your will power!! emoticon
