Need to get more sleep

I was just revising my action steps for stage 3 of my sparkdiet, and the question was "what is your trouble goal". Well mine is definitely not getting enough sleep! The main problem areas are:

1) I periodically suffer from insomnia
2) I'm a light sleeper and mostly sleep with ear plugs in to muffle noise
3) I don't go to bed early enough often enough
4) I'm often tired

so reading the above, I reckon I'm not doing much to help myself! Because of 1&2 I should do 3 all the time and I wouldn't be 4! Easy! I must just be thick then!

I did notice a while ago that I was often catching up on all my sparking using my iPad in bed instead of having a nice relaxing read before sleep. So I made the rule, no sparking in bed before sleep! I haven't exactly being following my rule. So that is fast break goal No. 1 for this month.

Having a soak in the spa pool before bed is a good relaxing thing to do and is a goal for my stress buster challenge and is another good one for my bad sleeping (which if I got sorted out then it would also invariably help with my stress levels!), so a soak in the spa say, 3 times per week can be No. 2 fast break goal for this month.

Last night I tried playing some classical music when I went to bed to help me go to sleep (was a suggestion from stress challenge) but I love the music so much I was too busy listening to it to go to sleep, so that was a fail. Maybe I should get a recording of whale song, or waves breaking as a different soothing option. I wouldn't then be concentrating on the melody and it might work better. There is fast break goal No. 3.

And because of trouble point 3 above, I need to change my attitude towards bedtime (I'm like a trouble child not going to bed when they're told! Guess that's the bummer/up-shot about living by yourself, there's no one there to tell you what do to! So self responsibility should kick in?!). Fast break goal No.4 is obviously going to bed earlier. I am going to aim for 10pm in bed, light out by 10.30pm.

Sounds reasonable. Will add them to my goals to track right now.

Oh, and I intend doing these for the whole month of Feb, so it's a long fast break!
