Stress monster

My headache is mostly gone. I slept better last night. I took a nice hot shower last night and it did a lot of good. Today it is cold rainy miserable out. My husband took my blood pressure this morning, and it is slightly on the high side. Not good. I am getting back to practicing deep breathing, and intend on doing what I can to avoid stress.
I think I may have to push myself away from the computer, and just sit and read a book.

    When stress rears it's ugly head, being told to take your mind off things is the last thing that usually does any good unfortunately. Keep at your deep breathing and that will help a lot. One day at a time my friend! HUGS!

    Take care and take it easy. I have been finding some good phrases for use in meditation and deep breathing on the web. One from DailyOm to use along with some deep long breaths
    I choose Ease
    I choose Peace
    I choose Joy
    and the one from a Resting site - say whatever areas are a problem -
    I am resting into my... back
    I am resting into my... heart
    I am resting into my .....shoulder etc

    Whatever you are worried about, you cannot do anything about it right now, it is out of your control right at this moment, here at the computer, so breathe and relax your body and mind.

    Its nice to hear you are better.. Meditation and deep breathing will help as well as a calming activity like reading, but so will a light form of exercise if you can manage..Its a shame your weather is nasty :( Getting outside always helped me even things out. Right now its sunny, but the strong winds takes your breath away at our temperatures :( (23 F now)
    I hope you can have a nice relaxing weekend free of any major pain or discomfort..

    I totally agree with deep breathing. Sit and listen to a relaxation tape and then take your BP. We have three machines. 2 with cuffs and DH wanted the wrist one. We always sit for 5 minutes but I have been neglecting to do my BP. I must get back to it again. I am lucky to have found a great Dr who is also an acupuncturist and this year is President of the US Acupuncturist Association. He has done wonders for DH and i but insurance does not cover it. We have to budget that in once a month for whoever needs it most. I have been able to resubscribe and hope it will stick. Take care deep breaths and find some way to enjoy your talents again.     Stress can sure cause a lot of problems. Deep breathing is good. Also try 20 minutes of meditation a day. I have downloaded many of these on my iPod for free. Some are really good. Try meditationoasis.com for some great ones.! R-E-L-A-X is good! Have a wonderful day!
