breast cancer

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

Been a while since I have been here so thought I would catch up on how I'm doing. I guess I will start off by saying that I was diagnosed with breast cancer (stage 3) in September. I had a double mastectomy two weeks ago. I also had 12 lymph notes on the left side and three on the right side removed. 6 on the left side had cancer and the three on the right side had none. I'm setting here in bed really bored but happy to be alive! The doctor is confident they got it all. I still have 8 rounds of chemo and 2 rounds of radiation to do. I have not been dieting but I'm trying to eat healthy. Right now I'm not even walking because I have drain tubes in and the more active I Am the more I drain. I have had theses things in for two weeks so Doc says take it easy so I won't drain as much. Real hard for me to do. Thanks to my sister in law I got a Kindle fire for Christmas so I'm reading watching movies and surfing the net. Anyway I'm so glad to be here. If anyone reading this has a story to share with me I would be happy to read it. emoticon

Hi again. It is so good to hear from you, especially that the doctor is sure he got it all. Sorry you have to go through chemo and radiation. Follow doctor's orders and stay quiet for a time so you can heal properly. The exercise will wait.

Awwww . . . sending you healing vibes and prayers.

Never quit fighting! My Mom was just diagnosed in June but her's was ductal carcinoma in situ -- encapsulated and no spread. She is going for a check up next week and is kinda nervous about it. I don't blame her . . . I'm nervous for her!

Anyhow, take good care of yourself. Prayers! HUGS.
