I crashed into a dog :(

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

I was out rollerblading today to try and get in some exercise before my husband and I go out tonight. Normally I do class on Tuesdays but I wouldn't have had time. There's this park by our house that I love that has a trail that's exactly 1.6 miles so when you turn around you'll have done a 5k. So I figured I'd rollerblade it twice and do a 10k. There's a downhill part on it that's a pretty steep decline for someone on wheels. It's very hard to stop and it was hell going back up it.
While I was going downhill a group of teens were coming uphill. There's a line in the middle of the path so people know which side to stay on. All the kids got onto their side of the line except for one girl. I started yelling at her to "Please move, I can't stop!" Instead she just keeps talking to her friend who is trying to pull her out of the way. Last second I jump into the grass. But instead of going face first into the ground I ended up plowing right into a dog. The guy behind the kids thought I was going to run over that girl and moved to my side of the grass instead of the other side so I ended up hitting his dog.
While he was asking me if I was ok the girl turns back to me and goes "Watch where you're going." and then starts laughing.
The guy with the dog started yelling at her but she didn't even turn to look at him.
The dog was ok. She was licking my hand when we finished talking which is usually a sign that they're checking if you're ok. The guy was very very very nice about it. I'm really happy he fully understood it was an accident.
I'm not going to sit here and bash teens because I know more nice ones than evil ones. So I'm just going to say wtfrack is up with hateful people!??!?!?!?!?!?
Is it mean of me to hope that girl turns into an ugly and lonely adult?

This day in age of sue happy people it was better that you did not hit her. Her parents would of probably sued you for medical bills. Her day is coming and she will not like it.

I would've crashed onto her as a sign to not be stubborn and MOVE when told to do so. Her friends understood by staying in their lane, she was the high almighty one who is good at barking but not biting. Got MANY teens near where I live just like this. Not all are like that... the good ones aren't hanging out in the streets getting in people's way. Am glad you and the dog are OK. I wouldn't wish anything bad on her though, because mean people like her are already mad at the world and more mad at themselves. She's suffering on the inside which is why she needs to act that way. Doesn't know any better.

Grrr! I hate mean people. Obviously nobody has ever taught her about manners! I am sure you are ok and the dog too. Guess you should have just run her butt over! That would teach her. LOL! emoticon

Ugh! I might have considered running into her on purpose since she didn't get out of your way. I hope you didn't hurt yourself! What a brat. Don't worry - something will happen to her someday.

Karma will catch her someday. Hopefully a dog will run into her, instead of something more serious - like a car - when she doesn't bother to look where she's going.

Its a Jungle out there. I was running tonight around our lake downtown. There were more folks than normal...lots of meanderers walking 4 and 5 across making the rest of us walk or run out into the car traffic lane. Common sense and politeness is getting rarer by the day.

I tend to hope people like that have a wakeup call that doesn't injure or harm anyone else, or even themselves seriously. Lonely and ugly and STILL that clueless about cooperating in a public setting doesn't make things better.

Yes ... I seriously make "karma" wishes like that when I see people do selfish or stupid things like parking in a red zone or handicap spots (with no placard) or pull into turn lanes to get ahead then jerk back into traffic.

I'm glad everyone turned out oaky. I hope that the younger girl will realize what a brat she was and if not maybe someday it will come back and bite her in the butt. Great job on rollerblading I was never very good at it.
