Bananas My New Best Friends

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

So I have been eating 2 bananas a day because they fill me up. Well I had heard if you slice them and freeze them it gives them an almost ice cream texture. So I tried it last night and put some yogurt and grape nuts on it and it was a pretty good dessert. Wondering how to make other banana treats.

Did you know one large banana counts as 2 fruits... 2 large bananas = 4 fruit servings!!!! They are binding so one a day a few days a week works best for me. I use to burp them really bad so I'd avoid eating them... since my diet has improved I no longer have that happen so I've fallen in love with them again too emoticon They make smoothies smoooooooooooooth, sweet and thick emoticon

I love my banana every morning with breakfast too. It's so sweet and luscious. Never realized how good they are. AND...I found these green produce bags that help them stay fresh for days longer. I was frustrated because my bananas were turning brown so quickly. The bags were $10, but I got 20 of them in a box for that $10, and they're washable and re-usable. I'm still on the first bag and I've been using them for close to two months!

Thanks for your comments on my page, I hope I can provide some inspiration for you. It's a lot of weight to lose, you're smart to set smaller interim goals. I did that too. I picked a spot on the scale I wanted to be at a certain time, for instance, I decided for a close friend's wedding, I wanted to be in the 240's, then for my 40th wedding anniversary a couple months later, I wanted to be in the 220's, and the biggest one was to get below 200 by my 60th birthday. I made all my goals. A Family Biggest Loser Challenge helped me lost 50 more pounds after my ONE-derland birthday goal, to get to my ultimate goal on April 15, 2011. That was a real thrill, cause I had never hit a weight loss goal before. Now, here I sit, over 9 months later, still below my goal weight. But I won't say it's been easy. I will tell you it is worth it.

YOU CAN DO THIS! Just take one step at a time, but always forward. If you mess up, don't worry about it, but don't let it ruin your entire day. Don't wait until the next day to start over, that just gives you an excuse to continue to overeat until bedtime. STOP that behavior as soon as you can. GOOD LUCK!
