What is your Legacy?

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

My legacy is what I've taught my daughters and grands. I'm not leaving them with money or property. All I have is Gods favor and love which is plenty.

I've taught them:
1) family comes first
2) value yourself and do not allow others to disrespect you
3) that they are beautiful no matter what their outer appearance may be
4) slow up on the tattoos as you may regret them in the future
5) Be respectful of others no matter how they treat you
6) I will always love them no matter what they do
7) You can be a single parent and still give your child the world

I wish my parents had taught my siblings and I, how our value and worth was not in our achievements but in who God had made us. I think to many parents teach their kids the values of the world and that's why we make it or don't [me personally, I grew up being told I wasn't going to amount to anything] and in some peoples eye's I haven't, but the closer I walk with the Lord, the more I know my true identity is in Him [my worth & value IS NOT based on man's approval/validation].

I like your list, ..and think your kids and grandkids are blessed to have so much love and care being poured out on them.

P.S. I had to laugh at the tattoo comments as my niece is starting to look like a walking bill board.. and like you, my husband said as they get older ARE THEY [especially her] EVER GOING TO REGRET IT. lol!
