I hate tracking food... but it works.

I love SP tools like the graphs & charts. They are so informative. They've informed me that from May '11 till Dec '11, I lost 2 pounds. I was exercising 4-5 days a week & trying to eat right without tracking. I was getting frustrated because I felt I was eating within my ranges & should be losing weight. Well, lemme tell ya, I started using the food log on January 1st & I've lost 4 pounds so far & we're only 3/4 of the way through the month. The first week & a half, I tried eating my normal food choices & was having trouble staying in my ranges. I was hungry. I was tired & having a hard time making it through my workouts. The past week & a half, I've been making different food choices that are packed with nutrients & fiber. Let's call it high-octane fuel for my motor. I feel wonderful, energetic, happier & the scale is moving again!!
On a side note, yesterday when I was at work, a lady who I rarely ever see popped in the room & sort of did a double take I said, "whoa, you're skinny." I laughed & said, "thanks." I think she caught herself & realized how awkward that was ~ for all she knows I could have been sick or something and she said, "Have you lost weight?" Again I chuckled & said, "yeah, I've been working at it for about a year." (LIE!! It's been a year & a half.) And she said that I look great!! It made my day!
My weight has been a concern for a while & I started tracking weekly weigh-ins back in 2006 & have the papers tucked into a drawer where no one can see. Today I pulled them out & smiled. I haven't seen this morning's number since prior to '06 and if I put some thought into it, I'll bet I haven't seen that number since 2001. I could not be happier right now.
