When You Just Can't Do One More Minute

Today was a rough one. I was just not feeling good today...tired and just plain icky...but i wasn't about to not exercise today...this would be 8 straight i had to at least try... at least for a minimum of 30 minutes... let me tell ya, i didn't think it was going to happen... just getting up the stairs to the work out area was a struggle...i did the bike for 10 minutes, though and then to the treadmill for 10...ok...just 10 more needed...was it going to be elliptical or rowing...hhmmm...ok, rowing...i haven't done that a lot... so 10 on rowing... then if i could just do 10 more minutes... but uh, that elliptical machine was laughing at me... and mocking me...and good thing they were all taken...but i could at least get on the bike... so 15 minutes....struggling the whole time...really...does this ever get easier?? lol... i know it does, and on most days it's not this bad... but i needed a mini pitty party :) so then...all the elliptical machines opened up...and again with the mocking... i stared them down... they laughed...i swear they did... so i got on 1 and just went to town... for 10 minutes...ok, so i didn't get my full 60 minute work out in...BUT i did get more than the 30 i set out to do...wohoo!!! SCORE!!! of course i wimpered all the way home...and really debated on stopping somewhere for dinner... but i have already planned spaghetti w/whole wheat pasta... and it's way too easy to make...and did i really have the energy to stand in a line??? and let's not forget the fact...i so meatballs and sauce are in the oven and i'm getting ready to put the noodles on to boil now :)

    WTG JoDee!! It is OK to take a day off once and awhile, in fact, SP recommends it. Oh I know, when you're on a streak it's hard not to keep it up, but your body might just be saying you need a rest from the activities that you are regularly doing. That doesn't mean you can't go for a nice long walk or short one for that matter instead. When you overtrain, it actually becomes counter-productive to what you are trying to do so listen to the signals it's giving you. Take Care my friend!!!

    Way to go. Once I determine to exercise, I tend to keep going. I'm glad you showed those ellipticals who's the boss.
