THE SEVEN CAUSES...

Aristotle (384-322 B.C.) said, "all human actions have one or more of these seven causes: chance, nature, compulsion, habit, reason, passion, and desire." Seeing this quote today made me stop and think about the goals I failed to reach this week and gave me pause to consider the cause!

The goals for the week and their respective rates of accomplishment were as follows:
Nutrition: Consume 1300 calories or less (daily) MET 6/7 DAYS. PROBLEM I ENCOUNTERED WAS THAT GOAL WAS NOT SPECIFIC ENOUGH. SHOULD HAVE BEEN REACHING FOR 1250-1300CQLORIES DAILY. WITHOUT ENOUGH FOCUS, I ENDED UP WITH AVERAGE CALORIE INTAKE OF 1165 CALORIES.
3-5 f/v (daily) MET 6/7, AVERAGED 4+F/V SERVINGS PER DAY. THERE WAS ONLY ONE DAY THAT I DID NOT EAT ENOUGH F/V, THAT DAY I HAD 2 SERVINGS.
in range for p/c/f (daily) IT DOES NOT TAKE MUCH TO IMAGINE THAT IF I WAS LOW ON CALORIE INTAKE THEN IT WAS UNLIKELY THAT I MET NUTRIENT RANGES. THE GOOD NEWS IS I WAS NOT OVER IN ANY NUTRIENT ON ANY DAY. AVERAGE P/C/F WAS 52/139/39, THUS I WAS BELOW RANGE ALL WEEK.

My calorie range is 1250+, my church is participating in a 21 day fast so my goal during the fast will be to stay at the low end of the calorie range. I know I need to be prudent because I will still need to consume enough calories to allow for weight loss given calorie burn.

Fitness: 60 minutes cardio, MET 4/7 DAYS, NO CARDIO ONE DAY, SHORTER TIME TWO DAYS. IN ALL I AM PLEASED BECAUSE I AVERAGED 58.3 MINUTES A DAY.
and one spark video(daily) MET 0/7 DAYS...HOW'S THAT FOR A RESOUNDING not!!!
I am participating in the January Jumpstart Challenge.

Motivation: One Year Bible entry and MUFHH devotion MET 6/7 DAYS, FORGOT TO BRING BOOKS WITH ME FRIDAY NIGHT SO I MISSED SATURDAY'S READINGS, plan meals ahead of time MET 2/7 DAYS, ON THOSE TWO DAYS I WAS IN CALORIE RANGE FOR THE DAY AND IN RANGE FOR SOME OR ALL NUTRIENTS, I ONLY WENT OVER 1300 CALORIES ONE DAY.

Accountability: Participate in Just Do It Team Challenge MET 6/7, January JumpStart Challenge NON STRENGTH TRAINING PORTION 7/7 STRENGTH TRAINING MET 0/7, ANOTHER RESOUNDING not!!!, and Spark Florida Team's Golf Game MET 7/7.

Spread the Spark: Huddle with each of my Spark Teams (21) a minimum of two times this week MET, Comment on 2 members 1st blogs daily, Encourage at least 5 Spark Friends per day!

TOO FUNNY!!! MY COMPUTER WENT FUZZY LAST NIGHT AND I WENT TO BED. I THOUGHT THIS WAS YET ANOTHER BLOG LOST IN CYBERSPACE...IMAGINE MY SURPRISE WHEN I JUST FOUND THIS BLOG HAD POSTED.
iN ANY CASE JUST AS A FINAL NOTE OF ACCOUNTABILITY. AS I DID NOT TRACK MY SPREAD THE SPARK EFFORTS ON A DAILY BASIS I AM NOT ENTIRELY SURE HOW I DID. I DO BELIEVE I MET THE TWO BLOG GOAL ON A DAILY BASIS, I KNOW I AVERAGED MORE THAN 5 FRIEND CONTACTS BECAUSE THERE WERE SEVERAL DAYS I CONTACTED TEN OR MORE FRIENDS!

In returning to the quote that started this blog...Aristotle (384-322 B.C.) said, "all human actions have one or more of these seven causes: chance, nature, compulsion, habit, reason, passion, and desire." I recognize that all seven causes played a role in my meeting the mark in some areas and missing the mark in others.
