Little changes appear...

This is the exciting stuff! I've talked a bit about physical changes I've noticed. Not needing to hold the railing when going up or down the stairs anymore, more zip in my steps, higher energy levels, not feeling that on most days the exercise is forced, not usually battling hunger. But in the past several days more things are happening! The sweat pants waistband that used to firmly grip my waist is now sliding down - not staying put. Both bra straps are falling off of my shoulders - had to readjust & tighten to get them to stay in place. Oh, these are GOOD signs!! At first it I just thought the waistband & straps had loosened up, but then I realized - that's not the case - they just don't fit like they used to - they're both a little too big now. Just passing along this great news!!
Today's exercise went really well - got 84 min. of continuous fast walking in and strength training too. Felt fabulous after I finished up.
No trouble with food today either. Had plenty of energy and NO hunger!! I think the cravings for sweets has nearly left me. I never find myself reaching for a cookie or a goodie. I'm going to take my BP tomorrow to see if the numbers are getting better.
When I lost 55# in 2002 I discovered that the ability to do this is in large part mental more than it is physical - at least it is for me. But, when I combine the mental determination to do it with the daily repetition of exercise & food management it becomes second nature or a new way of life. To the point that after a while it doesn't take as much mental determination because the new pattern has become a lifestyle. More like being on auto-pilot. Sure, there will be days when sheer will power has to be used, but the path gets a little easier and more rewarding when a person physically feels so much better, which in turn, makes it easier to have a great outlook all the way around.
