Today is not looking much better than yesterday

Well good morning to SP...

Yesterday was just rough. It started out ok. I managed to get my full circuit of individual PT exercises in at the gym yesterday morning. The weather reports had upped the snow predictions for today, which I had mixed feeling about, but figured if I was going to work at home today, it might as well snow alot & then we can play outside tomorrow. I got to work and the meeting with my boss went really well. He didn't have much to say on what we had put together, so it was almost up to his standards, lol.

But it went down from there. We went out to lunch, which I love to do... and everyone ordered stuff to share along with our burgers (everything at this place is ala carte). The problem is that it is all fried. And I tried some of all of it. It was like I was a kid in a candy store! Ok, so maybe not quite that bad, but I just couldn't stop myself. I kept telling myself no you don't need that, but I would reach for it anyway. I had a small dinner to help make up for it, but I still went over.

The afternoon wasn't much better. I was sore and had a headache (stupid fibromyalgia and weather). Then I had my first dry needling appointment. I wasn't sure what to expect going into it. All he said was that it was similar to accupuncture. I think the only similarity is that they both involve small needles...

Basically he sticks a needle into the muscle trigger points along the spine starting at the top of the neck and migrating to the lowest part of the back really quickly to try and get the muscles to react. The theory is that it will help the knots relax a little and get them moving so blood can flow back to those areas to deliver more O2. I would be lying to say it didn't hurt. It was pretty unpleasant and I was sore after and sore today. I guess if it helps it is worth it though.

But I skipped something. One of my co-workers had to be nice enough to drive me to my appointment. As I was leaving the parking deck, my drivers side tire decided to blow. Not just leak, blow... My husband picked me up from my appointment and we went to the parking deck so he could change the tire. My son got a kick out of watching the gate go up and down every time a car was leaving.

Unfortunately, the car jack broke so we called the insurance company for roadside assistance. They said it would be about an hour, but it was actually more like two before the guy could get there... We didn't get home until almost 9pm...

The worst part of all that was I missed my daughter's school vocal concert. Thankfully one of her best friends is in vocal too, so her mom was able to take Autumn to and from the concert.

Today the van is at the shop waiting on a new tire, so I am stranded at home. Snow predictions are back up to 6" (still down from 10")and I am stuck here. There is nothing in the house really for lunch, so I guess I won't go over my counts for today, but I will definitely be in a grumpy mood. I am resisting the urge to order a pizza, partially because I am not going out to clear any of the driveway to make that happen. Hmm... it might be good exercise though. The doctor told me to take it easy today though. UGH!

Man that was a whopper of a day! Don't freak over going over once in a while, we just need to make sure its not an every day thing.
I have Central Nervous System Vasculitis. The condition even when not active leaves you fighting fatigue daily. Because of the stokes from it and the medication I took for 4 years, my joints hurt so bad in the cold and damp weather, days like your describing would have had me crawling into bed!!
Hope the snow ends up being fun!

OK, so you went over for one day. I understand you kicking yourself for that. So kick away once, then cut it off. It was a bad day, as long as you keep in mind there will be days like this along your journey, I think we all find it hard with that one, no one is our greatest critic more than we are to ourselves. It is how well we handle those days that is the real test. Sorry you had such a bad day, maybe a day at home will help make you feel a little better. Snuggle up warm to do your work, and watch the snow fall, you will feel much better I think. HUGS and support XX
