HELP! I want to wear sexy boots!

Friday, January 20, 2012

Check out these bad girls. I think they're pretty stylish, especially for the messy end of winter/early spring weather in Canada. But look at the calf measurement. This is a problem I seem to have *every* time I find a knee high boot I adore, and trust me- that's often.

Does anyone else have a problem buying high boots for their calf size? Personally, I didn't ever see my calves as a bad part of my body. Of all the problem spots that cause me to stress, my calves were never one of them- until I realized shoe makers apparently do not cater to my size crowd. And I realllly don't need another spot of my body to cause me grief about how I look. I'm just starting to be content with my appearance!

Suggestions? Brands or stores that make better sized boots? Exercises designed to make your calves slimmer? Is it even possible?

Any help would be appreciated!

WOW Annie is our WOMAN to go to for things you really need to know. I coppied down all her information......ha I have always had nice legs and muscular calfs, the mostly ONLY part of my body that is like that. So I to have that problem. And I have been looking for a pair of boots I like since before Christmas. I think I am just going to go with the UGG's.

Oh, Sarah, the way boots are being cut now-a-days, seems totally unfair!! I find that endless.com is a really HUGE help in that area!! They're affiliated with amazon.com (somehow) & offer an AMAZING ***free***ship***&*free*returns*** plus there's lots of reviews you can go by to get other opinions on how they fit. It's FREE to sign up & they even give you a ***saved*for*later*** place to stock up the shoes you're comparing & they'll STAY in your file (even if they sell out, you'll still have a pic, description & the brand in there) till you discard 'em. I love endless, Sarah. I've been using them about 6+ yrs. I've returned heels b4 & the only thing is, if you need the shoe NOW, just go ahead & order the correct size (even though your other shoes are on the way back) cuz' you will get your refund!! Now... on the wider calves issue (which btw, are actually NORMAL but now, many companies are cutting them smaller) these are a few brands that are gr8:
    Timberland
    Bogs
    Sorel

I've had that problem, too. Don't know if they ship to Canada, but you might try zappos.com

you can find boots with more calf room. I love shoes.com (always free shipping, BOTH ways!)

I also saw boots with more calf room at DSW last weekend.
