Feeling good!

I went to the gym again tonight. I really wanted to go this morning, but DH convinced me to play hooky and go get coffee instead.

See, my original plan was to go this morning and do some weights (I got the OK from my doctor to take it slow emoticon) and then go back to do some cardio and check out the yoga-pilates combo class. I didn't have enough time to do all three in one sitting, so I decided that the cardio and weights were the most important part of this equation.

The yoga-pilates class looked OK, but I didn't like the looks of the mats that they had available for the students. I'll have to pick up a mat before the next class.

I feel good. It feels really good to be moving again. My upper body muscles had that nice burn, and I can still feel that the muscles have been worked an hour and a half later. My lower body is telling me that it was worked with 2 days of sweaty cardio. Even my obliques are a little tired. It's good.

And I made mostly healthy food choices over the last couple days. Even today, I didn't get the huge ice cream I wanted, or the cocktail. I got the grilled shrimp with veggies instead of the burger and onion rings. And I got my water in.

Let's keep this momentum going all the way through Disneyland. My doctor actually encouraged me to attempt to complete the Tinkerbell Half Marathon that I'd signed up for. She said that even though I hadn't trained for a month, my body would probably be able to handle the half. Just take it slow, focus on completing (not on being fast) and have fun. Chances are that I'll finish and not be hurt by it.
