Running didn't hurt!

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

I meant to go to the gym yesterday. I'd set out my clothes the night before, set the alarm and the coffee, and figured out what to eat on the way so I wouldn't pass out while on a treadmill... But electricity got in my way. Seriously. I woke up thinking "Man, I'm really well rested for it being 5:30am. I wonder when the alarm will go off." I went back to sleep and woke up a few minutes later thinking "That's a lot of cars driving by for 5:30am." I looked at the clock and saw 12:00 flashing. emoticon It was 7:15am. No wonder I was feeling so well rested. No time for the gym so I had to settle for a walk around the block at lunch.

I went this morning. Took 20 minutes to get the frost off my car. A skunk passed by. I've never seen one of those in the wilds of the suburbs before. Cute little things.

The girl at the counter said "Good for you to be coming to the gym so early." I hopped on the treadmill and did my thing. emoticon I only had enough time to go for a half hour before I had to head home to get ready for the day. Excitingly enough, my rib didn't hurt! My stamina left something to be desired though. I guess that's to be expected after a month (literally) of no exercise.

I'm gonna talk to my doctor today to see about upping my weight limit to something more than a pound. Today is the last day of the 2-weeks of modified duty at work and I they get mighty testy if I don't come back with a slip saying "back to normal" or something less than that.

OK, gotta get my shoes on and head off to work. emoticon I have a healthy lunch packed, a couple of healthy snacks and then it's date night on top of it all!

Hope your days are all good and healthy!
