Mid January Updates

I am also blogging over at http://personalreboot.wordpres but I'll continue to update here as well...

My bodyweight is still holding fast at 230, but I'm getting leaner, stronger, and have more endurance than the fall. I have come to the following conclusions:

- Despite how closely I try to monitor portions, I am afraid that I am eating many more calories than the tracker is telling me.

- My Invisalign trays (retainers) are good for keeping the snacking down, and my also for fingernail health :-)

- Bodyweight means little now. I'm pretty sure I can probably drop into a size 32 jeans and stay right around the same weight I am currently.

- Do not underestimate the power of social media for fitness achievement. Facebook has been great to keep me going, plus receive inspiration from friends and family members. I am the FourSquare "Mayor" of my YMCA, and I don't intend on letting that title go!

My short term goal is to up my mileage with longer runs above 3 miles. I have a 5 miler coming up in early March and it'll be here before I know it.
