I need Strength Training ideas. I've spent the last year doing ST Mondays, Weds, and Fridays and I've done free weights, power yoga, resistance bands, and swiss ball. I liked all of that but want to mix it up some and do something else for a bit. I like doing DVDs but cannot seem to find one that is just ST, they all like to throw in cardio at the same time. I like cardio but I like to do that separately. I get that doing ST does raise my heart rate, but I don't count those calories in my daily burn so doing cardio and ST together is not what I want. Does anyone know a good DVD that is JUST ST? I have all of the equipment listed above.
Well, now... you just shot all my thoughts right out the window. Until I read your blog, I didn't really think about how often ST is mixed in with cardio. That's how most of my favorite DVDs are. I mostly use Coach Nicole's ST videos now.
I'm with Mimi though... I can see you rockin' the PX90. Chris
Check out Supreme 90 (Best Buy, Bed Bath and Beyond, Walmart) It has some great ST DVD's you get the whole set (12 DVD's for around $20) Even if you never touch the cardio ones (which are great!) The other ST ones will get you results! 3125 days ago
I'm probably not the best source of info, as I prefer the healing, gentle moves of TaiChi more than anything . . . and then find myself dancing or marching in place regularly for my cardio (yet I have over a dozen DVDs). For ST, I have Coach Nicole's 28-Day Bootcamp DVD and am enjoying it greatly. There's an online coupon here for $3 off at Target. 3125 days ago
I've been doing Jillian Michaels DVDs like No More Trouble Zones and Ripped in 30. Although they start with a short cardio warmup, they're just ST. I'm really starting to see results. Lately I've been doing the arm ST from NMTZ at the gym after my cardio. 3125 days ago
