I think I am Doing It

I have struggled with weight loss since the birth of my twins, almost 5 years ago. My oldest daughter was 16 months when they arrived, so between those 3 and a 40+ hour work week, I didn't make any time for me. After everyone was in bed, I would veg out in front of the TV, usually with supplemental snacks. I also am a emotional eater, so that doesn't help
Right after Christmas this year, I was horrified when I got on the scale and weighed 198. This was the exact weight I was on the day my twins were delivered (only 3 weeks early). I looked in the mirror and really looked at myself. I looked old, tired, and just worn out. I hated it. I
I decided then that I had to make a change. No matter how hectic my life was, I needed to find time to get back to me. I got back on SparkPeople (I have been on and off since the twins were born) and joined the January Jumpstart challenge. Since then, I have lost 7 pounds, and to be honest, I didn't realize I would be able to change 'cold turkey.' So many nights I have wanted to make a batch of queso, or I get mad at my husband and want to just binge on some sliced cheese (yes, I am a cheese addict), but I calm myself and think that I didn't just sweat my butt off for 30 minutes to waste it on an emotion or because it sounds good. I usually chug a couple glasses of water, eat an apple or banana, and get out of the kitchen.
Anyways, I am not sure where this strength has come from, but I love it! My brother will be getting married in June, so that is a big motivation. I have lots of family that will be coming in from out of town, and I am excited to show them the new me!
