40 is just around the corner

It seems like I've been talking about turning 40 for a long time but the year has finally arrived and I have until June to hit the goals I have formally and informally set for myself. I started working out again last week after nearly six months off due to an injury that landed me in physical therapy. I graduated from PT in October and did I keep up the momentum and really start building myself back up? Nope. I did what so many of us do. Take my good health for granted. Not only did I not continue the workouts but I had the nerve to put on weight, which has me at my highest sustained weight ever. YUCK!
So while I don't put the pressures of New Year's resolutions on myself, I have put some fire until my butt to be lighter by my birthday. I would love to be 40 pounds lighter by late June. Is that realistic? Maybe not. 25-30 is probably more realistic but wouldn't 40 be great? I'm on my way and this time I'm doing some things different. I have taken one of the many free calendars I received during the new year and have scheduled workout plans for myself and highlight them as I complete them. A friend at work unexpectedly asked me to be her weight loss buddy so we are going to support each other, workout together twice a week and have one meal swap a week too. We've also started another BL challenge here on Spark this week so that is right on time as well.
I'm going to just take everything one day at a time. My household has wellness on the brain too with my brother working out again as well as my daughter so that helps when everyone is on board in the home too. The first few days were hard but I kept telling myself, just refresh and don't give up!
