"Share" Your blogs on Facebook?

Saturday, January 14, 2012

I just became aware of an option that allowed others to "like" your blog on Facebook. I personally don't want to share my blogs on Facebook, my blogs are for Spark People.

You can change this by clicking "Edit my Sparkpage"
On the right under "More Options" unclick the checkbox that says: Show share bar on my blog

Make sure you click the big button that says "Save your changes" when finished

I don't like that this was added without notification and its making me want to change my blog to spark friends only, which I'm seeing a lot of lately, which stinks because I like reading peoples blogs.

There is always someone who thinks they are the exception to the rule, like those who want their blogs shared, but the point is that this site's leaders have done that arbitrarily without alerting us they were going to. That is what is bothersome to many of us. If someone wants to share their blogs with the world on FB, then they can copy and paste it to their page there. -- Lou

I like to keep my SparkPeople persona and my Facebook persona separate. I'm more selective in my FB friends than my SP friends. Also, I don't want certain family members to read about themselves in my spark blogs. If I want to share it with both sets of people, I post it twice.

Thanks for the tip. I thought that setting meant share with other SP users. I changed mine.

I know what you mean. I also don't get why people TELL you to "like" their blog right in the blog. Um....don't tell me what I like...umkay. emoticon

There has been the option to post blogs to Facebook for a while, they've just changed the way you do it. I don't mind others sharing them, but I can see where others would.

I have friends and family that like to read my blogs or watch my vlogs that are not on SP, so I like being able to do this.

My sister especially likes to see how I'm doing. She's my biggest cheerleader, and has done a lot to help me. 2 Christmases ago she gave my a Wii Fit Plus, and this past Christmas she gave me a Fitbit.
