So today I hit my first hurdle. My hubby & I got invited over to someone's house for dinner tonight. My very first thought was, "How am I going to track that?" Then I'm told that they're making deep dish pizza. Ugh! Not because I don't like deep dish pizza but because how do I fit that into my diet? So I turned to the forums and asked for advice. Happily several people tried helping me out. I decided to go with my best guesstimate by using other deep dish pizza's nutritional values as suggested. But to make things even easier, when we arrived at our hosts' house they had the recipe they were using laid out on the counter with the nutrional values at the end! So I just scribbled them down & tossed it in my purse. On the down side each slice of pizza had 666 calories. I'm serious! I knew that pizza was evil! LOL And I know I saw some extra foods in the pizza that weren't included in the recipe. Unfortunately that pizza put me way off track today but tomorrow's a new day! It's not like this happens frequently so I don't have to worry too much.
Earlier today I found myself envying my cat while she sat purring in my lap. When she starts to get a little a little heavy we just restrict her food a little bit. And now thats she's a little bit older we've decided to buy her a higher quality food to make sure she stays healthy. How nice would it be to have your weight be in someone else's hands that you know will do their best for you? Though I would miss the variety. And then my cat jumped off my lap leaving a horrible smell in her wake. Unfortunately changing her diet recently has caused her to have bouts of gas that we'd hoped she'd left in kittenhood. LOL I guess I'm happy I'm still in control!
